******This wonderful chair is back on ebay for a second go around!!! The first buyer failed to complete his transaction in a timely manner. Good news for the 80+ people that had this item on their watch list the first posting!!! ******** GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!!********This antique modern chair is an excellent example of an early work from Le Corbusier. This chair has been beautifully kept and preserved for many years. The LC 1 is an iconic chair of the modern movement which is included in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Anyone who is familar with Le Corbusier or Design will be impressed with this chair. It is featured in many books and the design has withstood the test of time. This chair has a chrome plated tubular steel frame with tiltable backrest. The seat is covered with pony hide. The traditional folding chair used by the british colonial officers has apparently inspired Le Corbusier to design this model. Very comfortable and a great design from the Master. This chair was produced prior to 1964 when Cassina acquired the rights to manufacture the LC 1 Basculant model. This is not a Cassina made LC 1 chair making it very rare. Cassina was able to popularize the LC 1 however, very few were made prior. This chair has the master's signature on the bottom along with the name of the chair and the number E 038. This chair does show normal ware with slight surface rust. One of the arm slings is a bit more worn than the other however new slings may be purchased from a Cassina dealer. No restoration attempts have been made or seem to be needed. The buyer holds all responsibility of restoration of any kind and all sales are final. More information can be provided if necessary. All of the photos are accurate and free of adjustments or corrections. This item is rare and appears to be the only one like it on the internet given it's age and state. It holds value in the fact that it is unique and has great collector appeal. Designer: Le Corbusier Year Designed: 1928 25.2" h | 23.6" w | 25.6" d | seat; 15.75" h Weight : 25.3 lb.
