This basket-weave box once held one of the most desirable postwar sets ever produced by Lionel. The box measures approximately 19" long X 12-1/4" wide X 7-1/4" high. The number 2270W is clearly printed on the front panel. It is square and strong with all flaps present and firmly attached. The top of one interior flap has a small amount of writing. The box shows shelf wear primarily in the form of tape residue and some skinning on the end panels and top flaps. It looks like tape was once used to hold the box closed. With a little patience the new owner might be able to remove some of the extra tape without damaging the box. Guaranteed to be original. Please see the photos for more descriptive detail. Please also check out my listings for an authentic original 2341 Jersey Central FM, an original 2341 box with insert and wrapping paper, and an original instruction sheet for the 2341 all ending within a few minutes of this auction. I plan to list the boxed set of flat channel passenger cars in the near future.Buyer pays $12.75 for S&H plus the cost of insurance as quoted by USPS. Please wait for an invoice prior to submitting payment. I will gladly refund excess postage if the amount listed is $1.00 or more above the actual postage cost.
If you would be interested in selling or consigning all or pieces of your collection please feel free to contact me to discuss.I have been a member of the TCA for more than 20 years so you can . I am in the process of thinning out a lifetime train collection that started in the early 1970’s. It includes many rare and unusual items most of which are very high quality in original packaging. Some examples are a boxed 460P Piggyback Platform, boxed 3356-150 Horse Corral Platform, dealer and factory sealed items, as well as many pre and post war boxed sets. Most of my collection is Lionel with some Ives, American Flyer and other manufacturers represented. I do not have a collection list to share at this time. When practical, multiple items may be sent together to save on shipping costs. All items are carefully packed and typically shipped via UPS Ground (large packages) or USPS first class or priority mail (small packages and envelopes) within 3 business days after payment clears. I reserve the right to choose the delivery method, whether that be UPS, USPS Priority Mail, First Class or Parcel Post at my discretion. Shipping is not a profit center for me so if I overestimate the cost I will gladly refund the difference of any full dollar amounts. Payment via Paypal is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. eBay rules require you to inquire about alternative payment methods. TCA member are given special consideration. I am willing to work with buyers on any reasonable request. My objective is for both of us to have a positive experience. Questions during the auction are encouraged as returns will be accepted only if the item is not as described. Your inquiries are very important to me and I will make best efforts to be prompt and thorough with my responses. However, because train collecting and eBay are not my primary business my ability to continuously monitor and quickly respond to eBay related communications may be limited. Kindly allow for a reasonable response time to your questions. Alternatively, please feel free to call me at – ask for Pete. I appreciate your interest in my listings. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
