This no reserve auction is for an originalLionel 6315-60 Chemical Tank Car in its original Orange Picture box. Lionel produced the 6315-60 from 1963 - 1966. However, the Orange Picture box with white double arrow oval logo dates from 1964 - 1965 . The boxed 6315-60 appeared in only 3 cataloged sets in 1964 - 1965, all very desirable - 12740 and 12760 in 1964 and 12820 in 1965. It also appeared in only 3 promotional outfits in 1964 - 1965 - 12820-100 (R10 rarity), 13267 (12 ordered) and 19417 (100 ordered) .
This piece is in really nice condition with the wheels showing no run time. The only flaw worth noting is some tarnishing to the handrails. The original box shows shelf wear as can be seen in the photos. Both end flaps and all interior flaps are present. The tuck flap is off on one end so it was taped closed. The car couplers were inverted during storage so the box was not made with coupler protection flaps. There is some scuffing, skinning, writing and tape as noted above. Please view the photos for additional descriptive detail.

Buyer pays $8.75 for S&H. Please note that I will gladly refund excess postage if the estimate provided is $1.00 or more above actual cost.

If you would be interested in selling or consigning all or pieces of your collection please feel free to contact me to discuss.

I have been a member of the TCA for 26 years so you can . I am in the process of thinning out a lifetime train collection that started in the early 1970’s. It includes many rare and unusual items most of which are very high quality in original packaging. Some examples are a boxed 460P Piggyback Platform, boxed 3356-150 Horse Corral Platform, dealer and factory sealed items, as well as many pre and post war boxed sets. Most of my collection is Lionel with some Ives, American Flyer and other manufacturers represented. I do not have a collection list to share at this time.

When practical, multiple items may be sent together to save on shipping costs. All items are carefully packed and typically shipped via USPS priority mail, first class or parcel post within 3 business days after payment clears. I reserve the right to select the shipping method at my discretion. Shipping is not a profit center for me so if I overestimate the cost I will gladly refund the difference of any full dollar amounts. Payment via Paypal is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. eBay rules require you to inquire about alternative payment methods. TCA member are given special consideration.

I am willing to work with buyers on any reasonable request. My objective is for both of us to have a positive experience. Questions during the auction are encouraged as returns will be accepted only if the item is not as described. Your inquiries are very important to me and I will make best efforts to be prompt and thorough with my responses. However, because train collecting and eBay are not my primary business my ability to continuously monitor and quickly respond to eBay related communications may be limited. Kindly allow for a reasonable response time to your questions. Alternatively, please feel free to call me at – ask for Pete.

I appreciate your interest in my listings. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
