This no reserve auction is for an original Lionel 810 Derrick Car in its original box. Lionel produced the 810 from 1930 – 1942. Features of this specific car date it to 1936. This car has been examined and authenticated to be original by a member of the TCA Standards Committee. This piece has been around the layout a few times and shows some play wear. The paint is all original with nicking at high points. There are some spots of color variation on the red roof and green boom. One of the die cast cog wheels for the boom needs replacement. The wheels, knobs, string, hook and tackle appear to be original. All nickel journals and trim are present. Some spots of rust on the wheels. One coupler needs a new connecting spear. Even with its flaws this 810 still makes a nice display piece. Please view the photos for additional descriptive detail.
