This no reserve auction is for a vintage and rare Lionel 967 Post Office Set in its original box. Lionel only produced this piece in 1958. According to Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Trains, 1945 - 1969, Volume VI: Accessories by Alan Stewart, the 967 Post Office Set came with 25 pieces, including a multi-piece post office, mailbox, streetlight, traffic light, 2 benches, three vehicles, numerous people and traffic signs in Type I box without an instruction sheet.

The primary value for this rare accessory is the box with Lionel markings. The contents are very common parts manufactured by Plasticville and readily available very cheaply today. This particular package looks to be complete. There are 2 U.S. flags that may or may not be a part of this set but are included just the same. This box was held closed by small strips of tape at one point and there is some tape residue present. There is some wrinkling on the top of the box toward the front and on the front panel. Please see the photos for additional descriptive detail.

Buyer pays $8.00 for S&H. I will gladly refund excess postage if the amount listed is $1.00 or more above the actual postage cost.

If you would be interested in selling or consigning all or pieces of your collection please feel free to contact me to discuss.

I have been a member of the TCA for more than 20 years so you can . I am in the process of thinning out a lifetime train collection that started in the early 1970’s. It includes many rare and unusual items most of which are very high quality in original packaging. Some examples are a boxed 460P Piggyback Platform, boxed 3356-150 Horse Corral Platform, dealer and factory sealed items, as well as many pre and post war boxed sets. Most of my collection is Lionel with some Ives, American Flyer and other manufacturers represented. I do not have a collection list to share at this time.

When practical, multiple items may be sent together to save on shipping costs. All items are carefully packed and typically shipped via UPS Ground (large packages) or USPS first class or priority mail (small packages and envelopes) within 3 business days after payment clears. I reserve the right to choose the delivery method, whether that be UPS, USPS Priority Mail, First Class or Parcel Post at my discretion. Shipping is not a profit center for me so if I overestimate the cost I will gladly refund the difference of any full dollar amounts. Payment via Paypal is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. eBay rules require you to inquire about alternative payment methods. TCA member are given special consideration.

I am willing to work with buyers on any reasonable request. My objective is for both of us to have a positive experience. Questions during the auction are encouraged as returns will be accepted only if the item is not as described. Your inquiries are very important to me and I will make best efforts to be prompt and thorough with my responses. However, because train collecting and eBay are not my primary business my ability to continuously monitor and quickly respond to eBay related communications may be limited. Kindly allow for a reasonable response time to your questions. Alternatively, please feel free to call me at – ask for Pete.

I appreciate your interest in my listings. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
