1960 ORIGINAL POST WAR 1882 GENERAL. 4-4-0 -NO TENDER, BOX OR INSTRUCTIONS. -IT DOES RUN FORWARD AND REVERSE AND THE LIGHT WORKS, IT HAS BEEN IN LONG TIME STORAGE AND SHOULD BE SERVICED.- -AVAILABLE ONLY IN 1960 AS PART OF AN UNCATALOGED SET. -WAS DUBBED THE HALLOWEEN GENERAL DUE TO THE BLACK PAINTED BOILER AND ORANGE PAINTED COWCATCHER AND CAB. -EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL AS FAR AS I KNOW. -STAMPED "THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK, NY MADE IN USA" IN RAISED LETTERING REAR OF CAB. -IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN REPAINTED, THERE ARE A COUPLE OF ORANGE MARKS BELOW CAB (BLACK AREA) RIGHT SIDE. -THIS IS A VERY DELICATE ENGINE AND SHOULD BE OPERATED WITH CARE. BRASS PAINTED BELL ETC ARE IN MOSTLY EXCELLENT CONDITION AS ARE THE RAILINGS ETC, (EXCEPTIONS NOTED BELOW) -DRIVE AND GUIDE WHEELS GOOD REFLECTING TRACK TIME. -SOME SCRATCHES. -THE PAINTING IS EXCELLENT, WITH A FEW DISCREPANCIES AS NOTED BELOW. -I DID NOT GRADE THE ENGINE BUT WILL DETAIL THE MINOR PROBLEMS BELOW, IF NOT FOR THESE WOULD PROBABLY GO WITH A C-7 AS A MINIMUM. DETAILS: PAINT SCHEME: PIN HEAD PAINT CHIP (SURFACE) ON CAB ROOF. SLIGHT WEAR ON EDGES OF CAB. A LITTLE PAINT LOSS ON EDGES OF COWCATCHER AND OTHER ORANGE PAINTED METAL PARTS.
