ORIGINAL LOUIS WOLCHONOK GRAPHITE FLORAL STILL LIFE ON PAPER. 24" X 18". UNFRAMED. EXCELLENT CONDITION. NO RESERVE! Louis Wolchonok (1898 - 1973) Louis Wolchonok was an American Social Realist artist. He was a draftsman, painter and graphic artist. He studied at National Academy of Design, Cooper Union Art School, City College of New York, Julian Academy, Paris, and the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Art. He taught drafting at City College of NY from 1930; and design, painting and etching at the Craft Students League, YWCA, NY, NY from 1932. He authored "The Art of Three Dimensional Design : How to Create Space Figures", "Lessons in Pictorial Composition", "Design for Artist and Craftsmen." This still life is circa 1950. It is a graphite drawing on paper. It is 24" x 18" and signed lower right. It was purchased in the early 1990's at a final winding up of the Wolchonok estate.
