ORIGINAL MEZZOTINT BY NABUO SATOH, OF JAPAN - "DOLL & CRICKET" - dated 1973.This is number 26 of a limited edition of 75. Measures 12" x 7-3/8", (the actual image measures 8" x 4-1/8"). Satoh (also spelled "SATO"), a well known Japanese artist, was born 1926, and died 2005. Signed and dated by the artist in pencil just below the mezzotint, "Nabuo Satoh '73". Sato has also written "26/75", denoting the number of this mezzotint of an edition of just 75, and has also written something in Japanese - probably the title. A stark, charming, and yet somewhat eerie image of a girl doll holding a broom, and with a cricket on the floor at left. There is some foxing on the white outside border, and also some small foxing spots in the beige border adjoining the mezzotint - most of the foxing can be matted out with artful framing. The mezzotint picture itself is fresh and clean. (The first photo shows a close-up; the second photo shows the entire item, and the third photo is a close-up of Satoh's signature, etc) NOTE TO BUYERS OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. - I WILL ONLY SHIP THIS OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. BY REGISTERED MAIL, SO IT CAN BE TRACKED.
