This is an original oil painting by the American painter Donald James Zolan, titled "Snuffling a Truffle."The painting is oil on canvas, measuring 12-1/4" x 10-1/4". The frame measures 17-1/2" x 15-1/2," and is 1-5/8" deep.The artist has signed the painting in the lower right corner. He also signed the back of the painting (see picture).The painting appears to be in excellent condition. The matting has some brownish stains, as highlighted in the picture. The frame is in very good condition with only a few marks as shown in pictures.This painting was owned by my mother, who purchased it from a gallery in the Chicago area 1972 or earlier.Donald James Zolan (1937-2009) began drawing at age three and completed studies at the Art Institute of Chicago, the American Academy of Fine Art in Chicago, and the Arts Students League in New York City. Widely known for his work as featured artist of Pemberton & Oaks, a Santa Barbara California collectible company for over 15 years, Zolan's work was licensed worldwide and the Donald Zolan Collectors Club included over 400,000 members. He was an award winning member of the New York Salmagundi Club and a member of the prestigious Society of Illustrators.His original paintings have sold for as much as $35,000.Please feel free to contact me with any questions.Package will be shipped insured up to $45
