Up for consideration is a great old fixture by Oscar Bach. It measures about 12 inches in diameter and drops around 22 inches. It is in as found condition. It came to me with the remnants of a glass insert that is signed quezal. Bach amongst many things, was also noted for making metal shades fixtures such that custom glass could be inserted. This fixture seems to be made of lead. It comes with original chains and light socket that fit on top of the glass insert. Condition: The piece is a little out of round and has become detached at the bottom and along one side. It looks as if originally the metal was cast in a few pieces that welded or soldered together. This piece can easily be put back into original form...may have had a jewel on the bottom. Please see photos. Summary: if you have any questions or concerns please email. His design and production ranged from small utilitarian designs for the home to grand-scale architectuaral endeavors. Oscar Bruno Bach (German/American 1884-1957) designed and fabricated a number of exquisite metal lighting devices during the 1920s and 1930s. Working out of his New York Studio, Bach was familiar with Tiffany Studios and the similarly high end workshops which produced fine bronze lamp bases with leaded shades. Although the vast majority of Bach's lamps were fitted with fabric, mica or custom glass shades
