Original P44 WW2 USMC Marines HBT Camo Jacket & TrouserSet This is a set of reversible herringbone twill two-piece camouflage marine corps. Uniform Field Jacket and Trousers known as P44s. Found recently at an estate sale, older gentleman they’re said they were his fathers. Initially issued to Raider Units and later to snipers and scouts. These uniforms were worn in the south pacific starting in June of 1944 from what I understand. Jacket is a size 42 stamped twice on the tan side missing one bottom button in front that I’m sure could be replaced. And has a 2” frayed seam at shoulder on the tan side that can also be repaired easily. The jacket has large deep pockets with snap closures accessible from inside and out. Both snaps are there and work well. Marked United Carr on reverse side of snaps. Also has two buttons on each sleeve marked U.S Marine Corps and three in front, they look like copper or brass. Trousers/Pants are in excellent shape stamped size 32 on tan side of the waist, seven green belt loops on green side and seven tan belt loops on tan side. Six Brass grommets holes along the waist and are all intact. These have the large butt pockets and three snaps on each side marked accordingly United Carr, all snaps perfect and work well. Has a four button fly, all buttons are in great shape and has a five buttonholes. Some were known to have five buttons, others had four buttons, maybe has to do with the size of waist, not really sure? Original drawstrings at cuff of trousers, which are rare. Great color on jacket and trousers, both sides, a slight fading on green camo side of jacket compared with trousers but hardly noticeable. Has what looks like mud on back side of lower legs of green side of Trousers and some dirt spots on front green side of jacket.
