Here is a real nice Original Uncolored Photogravure of the UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY WEST POINT... BIRDS EYE VIEW by RICHARD RUMMELL ... This Photogravure measures 38" X 26" ...The Imprint from the Plate measures 29 7/8" X 16 1/4" ...There are small marks/smudges along the Borders...There are small holes along the Top of the paper...The inside of the Imprint is fine...Makes a Great Gift when Framed... This was an Original working Proof from a Company named ANDERSEN LAMB of Brooklyn NY...Andersen Lamb did work for LITTIG & Co. since the turn of the Century...This Proof is dated on the border with handwritten notes of 1964... At the turn of the century, Littig & Company Commissioned the Accomplished Artist Richard Rummell (1848-1924) to Create Watercolors of some of the Nations most Prestigious Colleges... From these Watercolors, Copper-Plates were Engraved and a limited number of pulls (engravings) were distributed... Unlike other college views of the period, the Rummell Plates are Fantastic Panoramic Views of the Entire Campus... Art Historians speculate that since the views appear to be drawn from an altitude of about 300 ft., it is likely that the Artist worked from a Balloon...
