Long a part of a storied Virginia collection of historical memorabilia and recently liquidated as part of his estate, this 1940s-era Texaco service station sign shows age commensurate with a full term of display outside at a Texaco filling station but excellent preservation since that time. Better still, nobody has made any attempt to touch up the defects which would immediately relegate this sign to less than original. As such, some normal degradation and light rust is apparent in small areas w the porcelain fragmented, but the colors are still vibrant throughout. The reverse is nearly rust-free and still white.This is a genuine piece of history, not a reproduction item, and represents a solid investment as well as a very enjoyable piece of garage, museum or store art. As a collector friend of mine remarked this morning, 'Good stuff isn't suffering much at all...'Shipping will include wrapping, crating and boxing which represents only a small part of the price of shipment, this will have to ship in a very large package regardless of its weight!
