This is an original Porsche 917 steel brake rotor that wasobtained from Vasek Polak Porsches' vintage racing parts inventory shortlyafter Mr. Polak passed away in 1997. I purchased all of the remaining drilled and vented brake rotors when the vintage racing shop had a large parts inventory sale. Although all of the rotors were rusting to various degrees, I took 3 of the very worst and had them bead-blasted to see how they would turn out. They came out GREAT (see photos) I coated them with Krylon Clear aerosol acrylic paint, and they've never shown any sign of returning oxidation (see reference photo of cleaned up rotor from 1998; this auction is for an unrestored rotor ). Since I no longer had a street Porsche (especially one that used racing brakes), I used them mainly as wall displays and model car bases (they work great with a single 1/18 scale model, or with multiple 1/24, 1/32, 1/43, or HO scale slot cars. They were used on a multitude of different street and racing Porsches and could be of interest to owners of a 911, 911T T , 911E E, 911S S, 911RS RS, 911 RSR RSR, Carrera, Turbo, 934, 935, 917, 917K, 917/10, 917/20 917/30, 956, 959, 962, Can Am CanAm, or IMSA race car. It measures approx. 11 ½ inches in diameter and have either clockwise or anticlockwise venting patterns (see photo to verify pattern and to see actual condition
