For your consideration an original matching set of 1913 Illinois license plates. I recently purchased these plates at a local estate sale and they are as I found them. I have not tried to clean or repaint them. I will leave that up to the buyer. As you can see I have both the front and rear license plate with matching number 87339 ILL 13. I am told this was the third year for license plates in Illinois. The front plate measures 13 1/2 " by 7 " and is made of thin flat steel. T are 6 mounting holes which look to be original. One on each corner and one each in the center of the top and bottom. This plate is very straight and not bent rusted out, or rotted. As you can see most of the original paint is missing. I have been told the front plate is hardest to find because it did not usually survive. The back plate measures 13" by 7 1/4 " and is made of thin steel with the numbers pressed out. It has four mounting holes one on each corner and as you can see most of the paint is missing from it too. The back plate is very straight with a couple of small dings along the top edge. T is a very light surface rust to both plates but t is no pitting and these would clean up easily. T are no extra holes that do not belong. An easy restoration job or display as is.
