Do you fondly remember that Smith Miller toy truck you had growing up as a child that you put “hundreds” of miles on? Or did you always envy that neighborhood boy who had one of these quality Smith-Miller built trucks? Well, if you want to just reminisce, start a collection, or augment your existing collection, or even if you have just recently become interested in these metal toy model pieces of Americana; I offer up for auction an original 1950’s era Smith-Miller MIC Lift Gate Metal Toy Truck. All of what you see in the photographs is included in this auction. This 1/16th scale model MIC (Miller Ironson Corp.) Truck features TWO (2) BRAND NEW front tires. The only use they have had was in their installation, and the picture taking for this auction. I ordered both tires directly from Smith-Miller Toy Truck Company, guaranteeing quality and an original MIC Truck tire tread design. As you can tell by the pictures, the ORIGINAL “MIC” Driver Door decal is in tip-top condition and looks as new as it ever did; the truck is worth bidding on just for this reason! All the parts of this truck including the chassis, cab, decals, headlights etc. are original except for the previously mentioned front tires (which look AMAZING!), and a very tiny screw which attaches the cab’s roof to the cab (this is not able to be easily seen due to its position between the cab and aluminum sheeting truck bed wall.) The lift on the rear of the truck, as far as I can tell, is complete, and of course, original. It works amazingly well for its age; the “hydraulic mechanism” which powers the lift still works smoothly and snaps the platform up very quickly. The decal on the truck’s frame next to the Lift Release Lever reads “Lift Lever to Release.” The “Lift Lever” part of that decal is partially absent but remains readable. Then on the aluminum lift body itself, the “Push Down to Load” decal is scratched on a few letters but again is clearly readable. (NOTE: The “d” on the end of “Load” is mostly gone though.) These decals are often available in other sellers’ listings on Ebay, so replacing them should not be a major hindrance to completing the truck at all. The passenger door is NOT present . It is the only missing piece of this MIC Truck, that I can tell, that needs to be installed to the truck in order for it to be complete. This door was gone when I received this truck. There are various - but small - paint flakes that are missing from the four black stake gates in the back of the truck, the red truck bed, and from some other edges of metal on the front, back, top, and underside of the truck. All of these defects can be clearly viewed in the pictures, so look and then determine whether those missing paint flakes affect your desire for this vintage, original Smith-Miller MIC Truck. Overall, this truck is in amazing original condition . Often, the window posts are broken, the door handles are broken off, the headlights are broken off, the wheels are missing, or large scrapes have taken off a lot of paint. You will find none of those defects here, just the missing passenger door. Again, look at the pictures for proof. Please ask all questions PRIOR to bidding, as NO RETURNS ARE PERMITTED.
