The town is over 1000 years old and even centuries ago it was famous as a cultural centre. The Tabriz carpets are of very good quality, finely knotted and made of strong lustrous wool. T are old carpets in private homes, used for years, which are still excellent condition, and the colours have kept their brightness. A survey of carpet weaving centres of Persia must give a pride of place to Tabriz, not because the best carpets are woven t, for better carpets might be produced in other localities, but because of the long, honorable association of the city with this craft, and especially because the revival of the industry itself in the second half of the 19th century, was due in a large measure to the skill, the enterprise and vision of the men of Tabriz. At the beginning of the 20 th century, the finest carpet had a silk pile. These are rare pieces and are among the most beautiful examples of Persian carpets. The usual Tabriz design is a medallion surrounded by flowers tendrils, however, some carpets have an all over designs. The warp and the weft of Tabriz carpets are of cotton and they come in most sizes. T is nothing more guaranteed to add a touch of warmth and luxury to your home than an oriental carpet. These treasures from the East can transform your home or your office in an instant, bringing it drama, colour and ambience of cosiness, regardless of whether you live in a spacious loft, a flat, a normal house or a country mansion. In your office, an oriental carpet is impressive yet welcoming. At a stroke you can put your own personal stamp on your work place or corporate environment, which will not go, unnoticed by your colleagues or clients.
