When I saw this hummingbird estate piece I knew it was a good one but was dismayed that the stone was missing. I looked up des. # 135171 and saw that it was attributed to Alfred Phillipe, around 30's - 40's. This model was made later in the 60's but not in sterling and had his signature. The brooch measures 2 5/8" across the wind span and 2.25" in length. It is also stamped Trifari and Sterling. Some of the vermeil has worn, a few rhinestones are needed, and the main stone is missing, but I think this would be a jewelry designer's dream and priced to play with.
