From the website of the National Maritime Museum , "the house flag of the United States Lines Co., New York. A white rectangular flag, printed in blue with the American eagle, 'UNITED STATES LINES' below. The flag is made of nylon fabric. It has a cotton hoist and is machine sewn." The flag was produced c. 1951This flag came from a collector in Australia. There are no tears or other damage but the flag carries a layer of soot from service at sea. There is a handwritten name on one corner, "LTC Murphy" and there are a few small stains that will easily be removed if you have the item professionaly cleaned. I do not know which ship the flag was aboard but it was used in actual service.Finished size is approx 44" x 68"
