Up for bid is my original Vietnam POW bracelet that I wore from 1969-1973 for Col David W. Winn He was released in 1973. You can google his biography. He became Chief of Staff of NORAD in Colorado Springs. He died in 2009. I would like someone to have it that will remember this great man. In 1969 I was teaching school in Edina MN and had Peter Winn in my 5th grade class. His father had been shot down the year before and his family had no idea whether he was alive or not. There were four children in the family. Peter is in the bottom row of the picture, third from right. I moved to Seattle. In 1973 I turned on the T.V. and watched Col. Winn get off first on the POW airplane returning from Asia. It was the first time I knew he was alive and I removed the bracelet at that point. It was a moment of pure joy that I will never forget. The bracelet is like new. It has no dents or scratches.
