A collection of 30 different, old bottle labels dating from mostly the 1920s/30s also among these labels are a couple of old cigarette /tobacco labels. Included in the bottle labels are . soft drinks lemonade, soda,cordials from firms like Muters of Bedlington, Doubleday's of Norfolk, Anglo Apple Mills Ltd of Shepton Mallet, Hague's of Parkgate, Wright's of Hertfordshire etc. The labels make a great display mounted and framed or even for scrapbook making. I been collecting labels for many years and sometimes I have to buy dozens of the same label to get the ones I want, so this is why I can sell these so cheap. I have managed to make up (9) lots which are all the same as in each lot, but its getting more difficult as time goes by to find different ones. Most of the soft drinks labels from Duckworths of Manchester and were printed on stone slabs, which had been acid etched to take the different colours and then each sheet would be laid in-turn to pick up the colours before going away to be die-cut into various shapes.The reason I know how these were printed is because I met the owner of the firm that printed them just by chance and he told me all about them, this was some 25 odd years ago and he was in his 80s then.
