is an original ww2 German Mauser 98k Bayonet. I was told that this is a rare bayonet, because both the bayonet, and the scabbard are marked P.Weyersberg 1940, with 647 a on the other side off the blade, and the scabbard. The top of the blade is stamped 40. I was told that in 1941, all makers switched to just letters. After looking at other bayonets, and looking on line, I learned it has other marks as well. It has WaA 254 stamped twice on the top of the handle. WaA 255 stamped on the push button. On the part that comes out of the push button is another WaA 47. The scabbard has a WaA 255 stamp on the ball at the bottom. The blade has never been sharpened, and has alot of the blue left. The black bakelite handles are in excellent condition. T are 2 maybe 1/8 inch scratches on the bottom of one side of the handles. I also learned that in 1940, Paul Weyersberg made 81689 bayonets. is your chance to own one of these. This is truly a beautiful bayonet. the Pics really don't do any justice for this knife.Shipping/handling will be $10.95. I will only ship to the US. No overseas shipments. Thanks for looking, and check out my other auctions for more ww2 items.
