This is an authentic, guaranteed original WW2 Japanese Type 100paratrooper bayonet made for the Type 100 SMG and the Arisaka Type 2 paratrooper rifle. It is complete with the original scabbard and leather frog. There is no rust or pitting on the blade and the blade edge has just a few tiny, unobtrusive nicks. It looks like it may have had some light sharpening, but nothing serious. The two grip screws have not been tinkered with (the screw slots are not burred). The scabbard retains most of its factory finish with just some light surface rust. There is a dent on scabbard’s back side that does not affect the bayonet going smoothly in and out of the scabbard. The frog has no rips or tears, all the sewing is there, and the strap and buckle are intact and fully functional. As shown in my next to last picture, the back of the pommel has an irregularly shaped indentation with an unusual surface texture (it looks like a splatter mark). This was probably caused by shrapnel or a shell fragment, and the bayonet may actually be a battlefield pickup. My last picture shows that this indentation does not affect the bayonet’s locking mechanism, and the bayonet can be mounted and dismounted. If my description and detailed, close up pictures don’t answer all your questions, please ask them before you bid. US buyers only. Buyer also pays $11 for shipping.
