Presented for auction is a very nice and original World War I 1914 Trio with Meritorious Service Medal for 16092 Cpl. A. SJT. G. CROWE No.3 CAV. F.A. R.A.M.C. His 1914 Star shows him as a Pte. then his Victory/BWM shows him as a T. Sjt. The MSM to Crowe was published in the London Gazette of 17 June 1918, "in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Forces in France". The award was one of 1222 'immediate' MSM's awarded to the Royal Army Medical Corps between 1916-1928, of which 432 were for France and Flanders. Source: The Meritorious Service Medal : The Immediate Awards 1916-1928 (Ian McInnes, 1992). His records from the Burnt Series shows that he is also entitled to a QSA with clasps CC, OFS and Trans and that he was wounded in 1918 with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder If you have any questions please feel free in contacting us so that we can answer your questions before placing your bid.
