Wonderful identified WWI Cross of Military Service (CMS) given by the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC). The Cross is numbered 6144 with the correct hallmark of Medalic Art Co., New York and is engraved in script writing "Oris Earp Hall" and has the overseas dolphin attached. T is some splitting of the ribbon and some discoloration mentioned for exactness, but does not detract from the item. Along with the medal comes an additional piece of silk ribbon which is attached to the slip sheet that the medal was originally attached to. The box is also present which has an attached piece of paper with "Oris Earp Hall" written on it as well as the medal number 6144. In the box when I got the medal was a sheet of paper stating information about the Cross - origin, etc. The original Certificate of Award accompanies this medal as well and gives some information on Hall. The certificate, medal and extra piece of ribbon on the original slip sheet are archival framed in a black frame. It measures 14" wide x 19 ½" tall. The back of the mat is cut out so you can see the engraving on the medal. It is covered over with an archival plastic film. I have tried to include several scans of the item.
