Original French Foreign Legion fatigue blouse, ca. 1914-1930. Constructed of white (now off-white) twilled cotton, this jacket features: standing collar; five-button front; single chest pocket; rear adjustment belt; and button-fastening on sleeves. Buttons are all solid brass, tunic-sized (with the exception of the pocket button, which is cuff-sized), with "Legion Etrange" in raised letters around their perimeters. Size is astonishingly large--an American 42" chest. This size is marked, in old costume company hand-drawn India-ink figures, in the coat's collar. Condition is very good, though t is some slight fraying on the collar's edges. Otherwise, t are no tears, repairs, staining, mothing, or other damage.
