Up for bid is a very neat original WWI German M-17 size 62 CAMOUFLAGED helmet. The shell has some scratching, dings, rust, and oxidation and is missing the rear split pin. The liner band is intact, and the helmet retains all three pigskin pads. One of the side pads is pretty rough and the front pad is missing the tips of both fingers. The rougher side pad appears to possibly be blood stained or something and is cracking a bit and the leather fingers were sticking to the inside of the shell until I pried them off. One of the leather fingers is badly cracked. There also appears to have been some liquid pooled in the top of the shell that has dried and turned a reddish black with some surface rust around it. This could be cleaned out if desired by the new owner. There are a few small areas of mildew around the liner but nothing terrible. I decided to leave the helmet as found and not clean it up in any way, but it should clean up quite a bit. The helmet has a nice original subdued camo pattern painted on it, and you can see the brush strokes in areas. A bit on the rough side, but you don't have to look at it twice to know it's a real one. Guaranteed 100% authentic in every regard. Winning bidder to please add $16.85 for well packaged, tracked, and insured Priority Mail shipping. Thanks for looking and please be sure to view my other
