you are bidding on a original world war one VICTORY LIBERTY LOAN POSTER. very rare poster. art by l.a. shafer. dramatic encounter shows a damaged surfaced u-boat surrendering with all hands to an american destroyer. this fantastic image is the only american world war one poster that shows action at sea . poster measures 28 x 40 inches. w.f. powers co. litho new york. poster is in good very good condition. beautiful color. a couple of small edge tears to right edge backed by archival tape. tear at upper right corner backed. surface wear and light staining along lower border. slight surface wear. fantastic poster will look great framed and will be a fine addition to your collection. Some of you may remember my ebay name from the fantastic collection of world war one & two posters i sold on ebay over a period of two years . i am now listing the rest of that collection. i will list about 10 to 15 posters a week. I DO NOT SELL REPRODUCTIONS. ALL POSTERS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE WORLD WAR ONE & TWO TIME PERIOD. this colllection was stored for years rolled so the posters retain their beautiful original color . the government issue posters which were shipped folded have light fold lines which have flattened out after being stored rolled. the private issue posters from seagrams, gm, general motors and union pacific to name a few were shipped rolled
