A nice original WWI U.S. Marine Corps medal, badge and patch group to Pvt. John Praytor. The group consists of: his U.S.M.C. Good Conduct Medal officially numbered on the rim "NO.58753"; the original award box with matching number on the top (box is flattened); WWI Victory Medal with "FRANCE" bar and scarce Maltese Cross; "MARKSMAN" rifle qualification badge; 1 USMC overseas stripe; 1 Discharge stripe, and 2 WWI Victory Medal ribbon bars. All of these items were found in an envelope entitled "John Praytor's medals and insignia WWI". Both medals have their original ribbons and brooches. The group comes with a complete copy of Pvt. Praytor's service record (33 pages). The copies verify his GCM rim number, his Marksman badge Service stripe and Victory medal. All items are original to Pvt. Praytor. Pvt. Praytor joined the Marine Corps August 2, 1918, went to boot camp at Parris Island, S.C., joined the 18th Company onNovember 21, 1918 and participated in the March to the Rhine and the occupation of Germany.
