Thank you You are bidding on one 100% original : 62.5% Pure Silver 1937 - 2 Reichsmark Coin Mint Mark D VFThis type of silver coin was only minted during the Nazi German era from 1936 - 1939. The superior design compared to other world coins of the era is remarkable. The edge of the coin is engraved with the words "Gemeinnutz geht vor Eigennutz" which translates, "Public good goes before self-interest." The coin in the picture above is the exact coin you are bidding on. You can view multiple pictures of the same coin at the bottom of the listing. One side of the coin has the Reichseagle clutching a wreath containing a swastika. The other side has a bust of Paul von Hindenburg. He was Germany's most famous WWI General and Icon. He was seen as the embodiment of German manly honor, decency, and strength. He held the position "supreme commander east" and led his troops to Germany's greatest WWI victory with the simultaneous defeat of two Russian armies. He was President from 1925 until his death in 1934. In 1933, under intense pressure, he agreed to appoint Hitler as Chancellor of Germany. When compared to a United States minted quarter, this coin is slightly larger in diameter and thickness. This coin is in good condition but dirty in appearance with little eye appeal. If you are a coin collector our opinion of the condition is VF. This is a great item for those of us that love historical memorabilia. Just think...
