up for your consideration i am offering at auction, a nice, very nice original wwll a-2. this jacket is a star sportswear, order no. 18245-p [some originals had either a order # and or contract #], which is the less common star nomenclature label. the jacket was manufactured in 1942, and it should be noted that star sportswear only had one contract during wwll, thus making these jackets somewhat hard to come by, and in this condition, down right rare. the jacket is in way above average condition, in and out [see pics], except for some wear chafing on the right shoulder epaulet. i believe that the shoulder epaulet wear is due to either a seat harness or a parachute harness, as the original patches on both upper shoulders are airborne patches. the hides are strong and supple, being soft to the touch. the knits are in outstanding condition, with the possibility of the wrist knits having been replaced long ago, perhaps even depot replaced. the liner is %99 perfect , which is quite rare for these originals. the original talon zipper works flawlessly. there in no separation at the starters, or missing teeth. inside of the left pocket is a makers tag that confirms the collar tag size as 42. although, i would say that the jacket fits as a size 40-42. this is a very wearable original wwll star, a-2, so before bidding, please read the measurements
