For sale is an Original Zassenhaus wall mounted coffee grinder or mill. This grinder is constructed with high strength materials throughout and is of heirloom quality. The mounting board is solid 3/4 inch Walnut stained beechwood. The back is stamped with "170" and "Made In Germany" in ink. It has a gold embossed makers mark at the top depicting griffons holding the letter "Z" topped with a crown, over a banner with the words " Original Zassenhaus." The housing that contains the grinding mechanism is sturdy cast metal. The conical grinding burrs inside are machined, hardened steel. The burrs are fully adjustable for grinding very coarse to very fine. This is accomplished by turning a knurled thumb nut between the grinder housing and the crank. The crank is also heavy duty cast metal. The knob on the crank is solid wood. The crank is completed by a solid brass button nut. The hopper is of porcelain. It is decorated with the word "Kaffee" prominently displayed, and is not crazed. The hopper is topped by a solid wood, lathe turned lid. It is painted gloss black with a solid brass pull on the top. A pliable white rubber gasket fits snuggly between the lid and hopper to maintain the freshness of your coffee beans. The catch cup is acrylic. It is crazed, but this will not effect its usability. It is held firmly in place by two small metal leaf springs. For reference, the backer board is 14 1/2 inches tall and if mounted on the wall the grinder has a profile of 7 inches. Thank you for reading my description. If you have any questions, please ask prior to bidding. I will respond ASAP.
