All Original WWI Wings Badges / Emblems , Pilots Book & Souvenir from France All of the items listed belonged to Azmon D. White. He arrived at the School of Military Aeronautics, University of California - Berkeley on April 21, 1918. He was the grandfather of a friend of ours. He found them in a small box while going through his parents house. We thought that they should remain together. Pilot's Book - Original issue: Aviation Section - Signal Corps, U.S. Army School or Squadron. The book is the flights and records of Azmon D. White. Graduated July 12, 1918. Original large wings: 3 1/2" wide. Not sure of the metal. Cloth backing on the back. Pin works fine. (see photo) Original U.S. & Wings collar uniform emblems. One U.S. emblem is a screw back, the other is a pin back. Both collar wings (1 3/4") are screw back. (see photo) Small wing (1") is missing the 2 pin backs. Not sure if this was from WWI or the Korean war.(see photo) Hat pin/badge - screw back (this is the one item that I could not identify for sure as WWI) Our friend's father was also in the Air Force during the Korean War. The first page is stamped: School of Military Aeronautics - University of California. First line has: S.M.A. Berkeley, Calif. stamped. Hand written if: 4-21-18 (Date Arrived) and 7-17-18 (Date Departed). Second page folds out and has Azmon D. Whites Subjects taken with Final Exam Grades. The other side of the page has all his personal information, including Rank: Flying Cadet, Place of Enlistment: San Francisco. There are then several pages of actual hours of flight training, including descriptions (climbing, gliding, landing, spiraling, and formation), duration, and maximum altitude. The book is also certified and signed by the Adjutant to Officer in Charge of Flying. Photo has been added of Azmon D. White in uniform. You can see his wings, the collar emblems, and hat pin. Photo in frame will be added to this collection. Frame outside measures 7" x 9". Photo is approximately 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".
