Visit My eBay Store: visittheblackpearl "A street car named DESIRE" is the song played on this very unusual music box. It is a beautifully painted ceramic piece with an older looking glaze of gold, green, and mauve colors. On the base are raised images of the famous port city of NEW ORLEANS. The Super Dome, a trombone & saxaphone, a Bourbon street street lamp, Andrew Jackson Square, a Cemetary Entrance, and historic buildings of Canal St. The words NEW ORLEANS, LA. is also depicted. To play , gently turn the street car in a clock wise direction winding the spring mechanism. As the song plays the street car slowly rotates around its base. The piece is in excellent condition without a scratch or chip to be found. The stickers on the inside of the base piece without the trolly car attached show it was Made in Japan, but was Distributed by Express Publishing Co., Inc. 515 Bienville St. N.O. La. 70130 telephone #. I cannot put my finger on it, but there is something quite odd and haunting about it as it slowly turns and plays the song. A wonderful and unique piece nonetheless. It will be shipped with the street car off its base in order to ensure safe passage. It easily reattaches by rotating the car in a clock wise direction. NO RETURNS ACCEPTED ON THIS PIECE. WORLD WIDE SHIPPING.
