I am pleased to offer an absolutely STUNNING Antique Edwardian 12k Gold Fillked bangle bracelet made by Bliss Brothers Co and has the most ornate patterning around the entire outer surface. This is a gorgeous wider bangle that is solid not hollow Please note that some of the photos have dark shadows on the bangle, but t are no marks or dark spots this is simply reflection due to the high shine of this gorgeous piece HISTORY It has a beautiful flowing design - consisting of fabulous engravings around the outer front surface that are a central Daisy flanked by LARGE POPPIES AND FLOWERBUDS AND ACANTHUS LEAVES on .. then it is finished with CURLING scrolls and a stippled background that catches the light with every turn ..such a feminine piece .. and it exudes that beautiful Olde Worlde charm. . In Victorian Times the language of flowers was as important as that of being " well dressed" and flowers held special meanings POPPIES - PLEASURE AND SUCCESS ACANTHUS LEAVES - LOVE So this bangle would have been a gift to a loved one...and must have a romantic history. It is Circa 1900 by design and styling. DESCRIPTION & SIZING It is a fabulous antique rich gold color, .and it has that antique patina you would expect with quality gold jewelry.... it also has that smooth feel usually associated with solid karat gold This is gold filled.. and while not stamped the outer surface tests for a minimum of 12k .. These bangles had a thick outer layer of gold over an underlying thin core, hence their flexibility...as they are quite fine but extremely strong. It is stamped on one end with BB Co , which would be the makers mark. and it is BLISS BROTHERS CO BLISS BROS CO- ATTLEBORO MA SInce 1896 - 1950 . T items are extremely collectable and they were reknown for their high grade gold filled and gold items. It is SOLID NOT HOLLOW and tfore can be worn daily and would withstand a lot of punishment. They are on the front of the bangle and consist of the beautiful floral carvings as mentioned above .. with romantic looking scrolls abd curls flanking these carvings.. . and the inside and back are plain and smooth and so shiny... .. The band measures over 1/2" in width and the inside measures 7 1/2 " and the carvings are intricate and STUNNING !!!... It is a buckle type bracelet and has three notches... so it will fit a multitude of wrists ranging from 5 1/2" - 7" . It really is exquiste , and will one day become a lovely family heirloom piece. It weighs approx 20 grams which further adds to its appeal ! The only fault i can see is that it has been gold soldered on the band on the inside on the back.. it has been done very well but you can see the gold solder on the back.. but it blends in with the pattern.. and if handled reasonably carefully when opening and putting on the wrist it will be fine.. I have one that has also been resoldered like this as they do get stress on them over time but i am just a little careful when pulling it open to slip onto the wrist.. and once they are on..t is no problem at all . This is a MUST for the Victorian collector, or the antique gold bangle collector. The photos do not reflect the beautiful gold color, ..and the photos appear brassy.. I couldnt capture the brilliant shine to the gold.........they do NOT do this gorgeous thing justice at all ! Please check my feedback so you may feel confident shopping with me.
