Vintage Cast Iron Bed Very Ornate ~ Painted ~ Shabby Chic Offering another great Vintage Iron Bed. This is an absolutely great piece, found at a local estate, but had been in storage for years. The bed is painted a soft blue color very shabby, but the paint does show wear from the age of the piece, but overall it just adds to the charm of the piece!! The bed is complete with the cast iron rails. The bed is not your normal Dbl. size but as with the other beds I have sold it can easily accommodate a standard Dbl. bed. A standard Dbl. mattress and box springs is 54 x 75. This bed measures the following: Headboard is 59 1/2" tall (but t are wheels that could be removed and that would drop off 2 1/2" if height is a problem.) Foot board is 1/2" tall Bed is 75" long total and 53" wide. So a standard Dbl. mattress would work with a 1/2" overhang on each side of the rails, this is not noticeable when the bed is put together and made up. I do have an original set of box springs available with this bed, and it actually drops the matress to a lower level, which looks nice as well, but it also drops the size down to 72" making a matress hard to find. Shipping information on this bed. I will be shipping using R&L freight. They deliver within 2 - 3 days after pickup. This bed is very sturdy and much heavier than others I have shipped, so shipping on the frame only is running an ESTIMATED $125.00 to $175.00 depending on your location. Actual shipping is the cost of the buyer. If you have an interest in the box springs as well they will add about $60.00 to the total shipping cost. This shipping cost is also based on delivery to a business address..if you have it shipped to a home, it unfortunately adds about $50.00 additional to the total cost. This is really a very nice bed, you don't see them in this good of condition very often!!! It would make a lovely addition to any bedroom!
