Vintage Cast Iron Bed Very Ornate ~ Painted White ~ Shabby Chic Up for auction is this great vintage cast iron bed. This is an absolutely beautiful piece, I bought it from an estate sale for my own personal use, but unfortunately it is no longer large enough. The bed is painted white, but as with any shabby look, it is worn is spots, adding so much to it's charm!!! The bed does have the cast iron rails as well. It is I believe the 3/4 bed size which i know is a bit harder to find springs for. I do however have the original set of metal springs that could go with it, but those would have to be picked up. Or you can usually find them around at local sales. I was told however, that a regular set of box springs could be used as well, it would just raise the height of the bed a bit as it would not sit down in the rails like the others do. Measurements are: 78" length x 54" width x 63" tall (headboard) 46" tall (foot board) This is a solid bed, as stated I used it personally for some time. We also accept money orders, personal checks (check must clear prior to item shipment), visa and master card...when paying via credit card you must contact us for prior approval. **** Please note the following information**** T have been several inquires as to shipping cost on this bed. The bed weighs 105 lbs total. so shipping via R&L Freight is running on average $100 to $125 depending on location. This cost is also to ship to a business address, if it ships to a residence you can add an additional $50.00 to the shipping cost. In addition...I have done additional measuring on the bed to see if a regular mattress and box springs will fit the unit. An average Dbl. bed is 75x54. You can use a regular set of box springs if you set them on top of the side rails and use 2x4 to support them. The width is just perfect and it will not hang over at all, however the inside length of the bed is exactly 75, so it would be a tight fit to use a regular box springs but you should be able to do it. If you have any interest in the older springs I have that sit inside of the side rails, the shipping cost would then total about $100.00 more. The springs are not new and shiny, but they are in good shape for t age. Thanks for taking the time to look over my auction.
