ORNATE GERMAN PEWTER DECANTER W/4 CUPS, SPITZWEG SERIES This is a very beautiful Pewter set with each piece looking like an art object. The detail is amazing. It is by "frieling-Zinn" of Germany. The series is called SPITZWEG. T are 3 different scenes on each piece. The first is of a man handing flowers to a woman, probably in front of her house. I call this one the courtship scene. In the background you can see other people watching the couple. The 2nd scene seems to be of a woman flirtingly walking past a man. The 3rd scene shows a group of people gatd around a man reading from a paper while a drummer is beside him. T is a young couple in the foreground. The decanter has been used as a display piece only and has a cork stopper. The decanter is in excellant condition and measures 4 3/4" tall without the stopper and approx. 5 7/8" with it. The bottom measures 3 3/4". The cups measure 2 1/8" tall and the opening is 1 3/8". They are also in good condition with the exception of one cup, which has a slight ?dent on the bottom edge. It is only visible when the cup is viewed from the bottom. The decanter is marked frieling-Zinn 95%. The cups are all marked Frieling-Zinn Serie Spitzweg.
