Hello and thanks for looking. is a BIG beautiful handcarved Orthoceras Sculpture Fossil plate that is from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, North Africa! It has some very well defined individual fossils, the largest one measuring around 6" long! Way Cool!!! The Orthoceras fossils are polished with a textured matrix background. They were squid like animals with hard shells that lived in the Silurian age, over 400 million years ago. These animals were in their fossilized state way before the first dinosaurs ever walked the earth! This would be a wonderful addition to your specimen collection or it will make a unique and stunning decorator piece. T is a stand included with this so it will display nicely! The overall piece measures about 11.5" X 8.5" at its largest and it weighs just over 7 pounds! It is a slightly contoured piece. Combine and save on shipping!!
