Otagiri Bittersweet Japan Midcentury Modern Soup Bowl Settings Hamada Mashiko My set of Otagiri tableware was tucked deep in the folds of the attic since maybe the late 1970's. As I downsize, this is a set that must go to a new home. I chose my Midwinter set as my primary dinnerware and these were barely used. The set is the Bittersweet pattern and was made in Japan, probably in the 1960's. They are all hand made and hand decorated in the great tradition of Mashiko Japanese pottery. It was most likely produced in this or another major ceramic center. It has a beautiful oatmeal colored surface and the designs are lightly raised and very free form and flowing. The foot is lovely and raises the bowl elegantly off the table. There are some light scratches as shown but no chips, cracks or damage to any of the plates or bowls I am listing. The bowl is 6" on diameter and I am starting the "buy it now" with 5 bowls. Your bid is for one bowl. Save on shipping by buying multiple pieces from the set.
