This is very rare and has the sought-after YELLOW MONK'S ROBE GLAZE that is making headlines everyw Otto has become a millionaire with the reinvention of this lost Asian glaze. His yellow glazed pots are selling for up to $25,000. In a 2006 Clay Times article he stated as of 2007 all his prices for the yellow glazed bowls are going up. It is made of a light stoneware and fired to cone 10 in a wood kiln. It is about 3"x4.25"x4.25" in size and is signed OTTO with the date 06. Otto Heino (b. 1915) is well known as part of a team of studio potters that included, until 1995, his wife Vivika Heino (1910-55).When Otto and Vivika began working with clay in the 1940's, ceramics was still largely an unformed discipline in the United States. Since Vivika's death in 1995, Otto has continued working with the same consistency and dedication, producing his finely constructed pots from the home and studio he shared with Vivika in Ojai, California.
