A VERY UNIQUE HANDWRITTEN MANUSCRIPT IN THE OTTOMAN TURKISH LANGUAGE RELATED TO CRETE It is considered that the handwritten manuscript relates to years 1730's and it probably belongs to an Ottoman bureaucrat who has been officiated in Crete . Besides the copies of imperial edicts sent to Crete , petitions presented by Cretans reflecting social and economical situations of the period are attracting attention so much. Some of these petitions are related to the withdrawal of a tax that is collected for olive oil, some of them are related to complaints about state officials or appreciation of state officials.
