Up for auction is this mid '30s book on the Chicago Public Schools put out by the Board of Education. Item is softcover, 42 pages. Book is an overview of the city's public schools and is exstensively illustrated with numerous black and white photos. Contains information on schools - elementary, high schools, vocational schools, junior colleges, and normal college. Also music program, art education, indistrial arts, home ec., phys. ed., safety, R.O.T.C., playgrounds and athletic fields, educational movies, business education, special needs students, Chicago Parental School, Americanization Bureau, evening schools, textbooks, libraries, lunch rooms, school buildings, 1937 construction program, and finally a list of key personell. In good condition. Some stains, dirt to cover. Some pages have some marks, but most are clean. Center page is loose from one staple. A fascinating look back at the state of public education in the inter-war era.
