Description: Wow!!! This is really interesting, beautiful, and antique late 19th century Kazak rug from Caucasus mountains. The region of Kazak consists of the western area of the Caucasus Mountains stretching from Erivan in the south to Tiflis in the North. The present offering is early, perhaps being as old as 110 years. This design is a wonderful medallion design with many figures at the field. Look at the small motifs at different colors in gorgeous blue field color!!Brilliant ivory, nice red, jewel yellow, sea green, sky blue, indigo blue, dark green, brown make this rug so attractive and powerful. Ofcourse, all colors are natural and vegetal dyes. The condition of this rug is good for its age full even pile all over with some small scattered repilling areas at the center of the rug and repairs at corners which all of them done by professional work. Both ends and selvages are original and complete with original killim. This rug was made with wool on wool foundation. The wool of this rug is absolutely soft, shiny and handles of this rug like a dream and the design and colors is impossible to describe. The size of this rug is: 6'-5"x3'-8". The rug you see is the magnificent piece produce from the creative work of Kazak region and is a fantastic example of beautiful 19th. Century Caucasian rug.
