Outstanding Crown Devon, England "Pegasus" Tobacco Jar This is a outstanding Crown Devon, England tobacco jar that measures approximately 5'' in height, and is about 6.5'' in width (The width measurement is for the widest point. The diameter of the lid is about 5''). The tobacco jar is marked on the base: "Pegasus", over gold crown, Crown Devon, Fieldings, Made In England, 5533, also has impressed mold #1336. The beautiful English hand painted lustre jar probably dates from the Art Deco Era, around the 1920's or 1930's (This is my opinion as to the age of the jar). The piece is in exceptional condition with no chip, cracks, or repairs. The original recessed lid with brass fixtures are both in fine order. The lid recedes about 1'' into the top, with the brass fixtures neatly fitting into the slits that are on the rim edge of the jar. Quite a extraordinary design that is pleasing to the eye. What a sharp find to add to any serious collection. As always, PLEASE ask any questions before you place your bid. Shipping and handling within the 48 States will be $13.50 plus required insurance. NO PAYPAL & NO P.O. BOXES.
