Of absolutely awesome quality this early to mid 19th century hunting dagger is most likely French and wears a fantastic heavy double-edged blade with two narrow grooves to each side, blade has been cleaned in the past and now shows lovely bright steel color with just evidence of timely aged patina. Lovely iron guard and flattened pommel, spirally carved horn grip, all in immaculate condition, completely solid. Comes with a leather scabbard which is likely to be a later replacement. Very Fine knife Folks, a Real pleasure to handle. Overall 16". Blade 10".
