¡El toro grande y magnifico! ... What an iconic piece of early Mexican silver making, dating from the 1930's to '40s! Impressive in both dimension and design, the brooch depicts a Mexican toro bravo or fighting bull in all its muscular, fearsome, and magnificent splendor. The robust silver repoussé is exceptional, as are the cut work, pierced and tooled details. You can just about see the steam snorting from the bull's nose! The pinback is fitted with an old-style rollover clasp and the extra long pin stem attests to the brooch's old age. This is a superb jewelry piece, perfect to adorn the lapel of a coat or jacket, as well as to display in a Mexican silver collection. Hallmarks: SILVER , MEXICO {stamped onto an applied circular silver medallion}. Dimensions: 3-1/2" x 2". Condition: Excellent vintage condition. ~ SUGGESTED READING BEFORE BID!!
