eBay's largest sellers use AuctionLynxx to increase sales... shouldn't you? ~ OUTSTANDING GARDINER 3 SWAN 5GAL CROCK w/COBALT 1800s ~ ~ No Reserve ~ Another fine antique crock goes up for auction. A beautifully done 5 gallon crock with two perfect elephant ear handles. A nice even salt glazed piece.This old crock comes from Gardiner Stoneware of Gardiner, Maine and features not one, not two but THREE incised swans highlighted with blue cobalt. Fine detailing is clearly stamped into the front of this piece. At the top is a stamped oval. Inside it reads "GARDINER STONEWARE MANUFACTORY GARDINER ME." Below that is stamped a "5" for the 5 gallon capacity. Lastly three intricately detailed swans are incised into the stoneware. All markings are highlighted in blue cobalt which has been worn down over time. The top two marks are surrounded by neatly incised lines. Condition: This crock is absolutely perfect. T is no damage of any sort. The staining you see in the pictures is not nearly as bad as it looks. It presents much better in person, I guarantee it. This old piece is pristine! All t is to report is the normal potstone blemish & t, but you have to hunt to find even that! Dimensions: Stands 12 1/2" high with a 11 1/2" base. Top diameter 12". Weight: 18lbs 2 ozs.
