YOU ARE LOOKING AT AN: OUTSTANDING GILBERT MANTEL CLOCK WITH STATUE This mantel clock, named "Garcia" was made in 1904 by the William Gilbert Clock Company it features an eight day movement with a nice resounding gong chime on the hour and cup bell chime on the half hour. It has a 5 1/2 inch dial with roccoco sash around a gilt perforated dial. It has red marbelized columns and sides with gilt ornamental details. The finish has some natural paint and gilt wear from dusting and polishing. The height of the clock with the statue is 19 1/2 inches tall and the width is 16 1/4. It is a fairly large clock handsomely designed. It is listed in Tran Duy Ly's "Gilbert Clocks Book" on page 218. Presently the clock is ticking away and keeping time very well. The clock over all is in wonderful shape for 103 years old. Pendulum and key are included. (I believe they are not original to the clock) The statue, also manufactured by the Gilbert Clock Company in 1897, compliments this clock beautifully. This statue called, "Music" is made of spelter, exquisitely detailed and in very good condition. It is also listed in Tran Duy Ly's "Gilbert Clocks Book" on page 426.
