This is the best large size 3-d victorian folding die cut valentine that I have ever seen! This is in great condition and was found in it's original paper folder and it's original envelope which is postmarked: 12:00 A.M. Feb. 14th 1908. Mailed to: Miss grace Brown in Elkton, Oregon. This is also post marked Elkton, Oregon and has a 2 cent commemorative president washington stamp. This was found among the items being sold from the Alonzo Brown family. Alonzo plated out the town of Oakland Oregon in the 1870's and his beautiful victorian italianette home still stands in Oakland. The colors are still bright on this from being stored all of these years in it's original envelope. T are seven separate layers of die cut pieces that make up the scene. The elements of the scene are as follows: A large cart with all of it's flowered wheels, a cupid or Angel pulling the cart with a golden cord, a young boy holding a heart shaped valentine with flowers on it, a dove flying with a letter in it's beak ( center near the base), multipul layers of flowers and a folding bright pink pom - pom. All of this is sitting on a cloud that is marked on the underside: " A Message Of True Love" with roses surrounding. Overall size is approx: 10 1/2" long x 7 1/2" tall x 6" deep. T are a few small paper fragments missing around the edges and a few slight bends but I would call the condition amazing for 100 years old this year! Good luck bidding on this hard to find folding victorian die cut valentine! We accept checks and money orders. We only charge exact shipping- no handling charges. Ins. is extra but not required.
